Featuring Carolina Quiroga-Stultz, Angel Vigil, and Liz Weir Emcee: Cooper Braun-Enos

Carolina Quiroga-StultzCarolina Quiroga-Stultz is a Bilingual Storyteller Performer and Podcaster, who graduated in 2013 with a Masters in Storytelling from the East Tennessee State University (ETSU). Her large repertoire of bilingual stories, explores the Native and Afro-Latin American and Hispanic Myths, Legends and Mysteries ranging from El Río Bravo to La Patagonia. Her bilingual storytelling enchants her audiences with her compelling mannerisms and the passion she brings to each story. She has performed at several regional festivals and Conferences in Texas, Louisiana, Tennessee, and Kansas City, and also at numerous schools, libraries, universities and colleges to culturally and socially diverse audiences.
Angel VigilAngel Vigil is an accomplished author, performer, theatre director, and educator. He is the author of six award-winning books on Hispanic and Western arts and culture. Angel is also the Colorado State Heritage Artist for Hispanic storytelling, specializing in the traditional stories of the Hispanic Southwest and Mexico. He has performed, directed and taught in theatre, dance and the circus arts. He also has appeared at national storytelling festivals throughout the United States.
Liz WeirLiz Weir is an Irish storyteller with an international reputation. She has performed on five continents appearing in venues from the Vanderbilt Hall of New York’s Grand Central Station to libraries in Australia, from prisons in Canada to London’s Royal Albert Hall. Having started her career as Children’s Librarian for the City of Belfast, she saw firsthand the healing power of storytelling to bring communities together. Liz was the first winner of the International Storybridge Award from the National Storytelling Network, which cited her “exemplary work promoting the art of storytelling,” and has recently been be appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the UK’s New Year 2019 Honours List for her services to the arts and education.

Saturday, April 13 • 7:00-9:00pm Story SLAM!

Theme:  ILLUSION  Can you trust your eyes? Have you seen one thing when you knew it was another?  Have you pursued a dream that never became real?  Have you had a run in with a wizard, or an overly knowledgeable old woman?  Bring us your stories of ILLUSION!
Come with a five minute story and put your name in the hat.  One by one names will be drawn and the storyteller will take the stage.  Story can be true or traditional tale. No notes, just you and your story on the theme of illusion.  Winner picked by a panel of judges.
